Twitter is down

June 21. The first day of summer. Tweeters should experience euphoria during this northern hemisphere solstice. Alas (I use this word to bypass –ly adverbs like sadly or unfortunately to avoid critique chastisement), Twitter is down.

Not the same down as in a fluffy winter comforter that warms Twitter fans on cold evenings. Or down in jackets that protects skiers on snowy peaks. Not down like the stock market. Better yet, not down as in the trauma of putting a horse down. None of those. Twitter is down like offline…inoperable…not working…unavailable.

If you’re a writer, make use of this bad news. Use down time to write 141 characters.

 Celebrate summer solstice!
